I come from a Catholic family in India. I had not been practicing Christianity in the right way. It was my mother who influenced me to go to church. Growing up, I visited different churches, and I saw many family members and friends get baptized in water. But despite all of this, I rarely saw the true characteristics of Jesus in the people around me. Their lives didn’t reflect the faith they claimed to follow, and this really discouraged me. It left me questioning the meaning of Christianity and whether it was real.
My life felt simple, routine, and without any deeper purpose. I have always been the kind of person who looks for practical experience—something real and lived out—not just memorizing Bible verses or repeating religious traditions. I wanted to see Jesus in everyday life, not just in words.
Everything began to change when I started attending this church. For the first time, I saw people living out true Christian values, not just preaching them. Their actions, their attitudes, and the way they carried themselves reflected the love and character of Jesus in a real way.
In particular, Pastor Jerome has been a great motivation for me. His teachings and his life have inspired me deeply. He showed me what it means to follow Jesus in real, practical, everyday life. Through his guidance, I began to understand what Christianity truly is—not empty rituals, but a transformed life that reflects Christ.
As my family and I attended this church for nearly a year, something beautiful happened. My family members also started to understand the meaning of true Christian living. They began to realize what it means to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. And together, we reached the decision that we are ready to be baptized.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”
- ACTS 16: 31
For us, baptism is not just a ceremony. It is a public proclamation that we have understood the Christian life, that we are living it, and that we are committing ourselves to continue living it fully. We believe it is meaningful and powerful to take this step together as a family.
Today, we stand here ready to be baptized—not because of tradition, but because we have experienced the reality of Jesus, learned what it means to follow Him, and are committed to living a true Christian life from this day forward. I know this is not the easy path to practice the Christianity. But I know he has the plan for me. With his great guidance and his support, I can do this.
